Silicone Dies and Rubber Stamps
Rubber stamps are used by hobby and craft enthusiasts, while silicone dies are used within the cosmetics industry. Both products are manufactured in a similar manner.
First, magnesium is deep etched and then pressed into a matrix board under heat and pressure. Silicone or natural rubber is then formed from the matrix board to create a rubber relief plate via a molding press. The rubber plates are often mounted on wood for crafters, whereas the flexible rubber for silicone dies is wrapped around a print cylinder and utilized to apply foil to cylindrical packaging for cosmetics such as eyeliner or lipstick.
